Sicily offers a lot for who is interested in sports. With good weather on average from March/April to October/November. Is many hills and mountains offer the perfect setting for hiking, cycling (or mountain biking), horseback riding and for the more adventurous climbing, paragliding and parachuting. In winter there are also a few ski resorts.

Sicily has also more than 1000 km of coastline where to practice surfing, windsurfing, snorkelling, kitesurfing and scuba diving to discover fantastic seabeds and lava cliffs.

Traditional events

Sicily is one of the Italian regions that counts the largest number of fairs and festivals. Every town, even the smallest has a Patron saint and each year there is a feast. During this time usually many of the towns former citizen who have moved will visit so smaller towns can double or even triple their population during the “Festa”.

Street Markets

Visiting one of Sicilian traditional street market is an unmissable opportunity to immerse yourself in a lively and unique atmosphere full of colours and scents.

It is an opportunity to find local and fresh produce and try one of the traditional street food specialities listed below.

Some of the most ancient street markets are the Mercato del Capo”, Ballaro” and Vucciria” in Palermo, A’ Piscaria Mercato del Pesce” in Catania and Mercato del Pesce” in Trapani.

Sicily is not particularly know for it’s nightlife as other destinations such as Spain or Greece, but it also has a vibrant and rich nightlife especially in the summer.  

All large cities such as Catania, Messina, Ragusa, Palermo, Syracuse, Agrigento, Marsala, Trapani, Toarmina, Pachino, etc .. offer tourists a wide variety of pubs, clubs, terraces on the sea, nightclubs, etc. .. to have fun until the first light of dawn.
