Only 70 km away from Tunisia which on particularly clear days can be sighted from the island, although this volcanic island has no beaches it has a large nature reserve and a beautiful heart shaped lake, “Mirror of Venus” (Specchio di Venere in Italian).

5 km from Palermo this island is a marine reserve and is particularly know for scuba diving.

Pelagie (Pelagie islands)

A group of 3 small islands which are closer to Africa than mainland Sicily. It is the southernmost part of Italy and the 3 islands of Lampedusa, Linosa and Lampione geologically belong to Africa. The Rabbit Beach (Spiaggia dei Conigli ) is considered one of the most beautiful beach in the world.

Egadi (Aegadian Islands)

A group of 5 mountainous islands with pristine and wonderful sea and then beaches with the finest sand or beautiful cliffs. The group consists of the 3 main islands of Favignana, Marettimo e Levanzo (inhabited) plus the smaller islands of Maraone and Formica (uninhabited)
